Today more than 4o furnaces are still in place in Murano island to create wonderful artistic glass masterpieces.
Start with an historical battiloro artisan laboratory where gold, silver and other precious metals are transformed into ultra-slim leaves to be used in art glassworks and to be applied in many other multiple fields as to decorating the most beautiful gondolas.
Then, admire the traditional “vetro a lume” – lamp glass – technique through which astonishing tiny and precious art glasses are created, as glass beads, necklaces, animal sculptures and much more.
Hop aboard of the vaporetto (water bus) for less than a 10′ short-trip to Murano island to see an art glass furnace in full activity where the glass is blown, enriched with precious stone powders, engraved, polished and finally transformed into astonishing masterpieces.
